United24, the new fundraising platform launched by Volodymyr Zeleskyy of Ukraine, allows you to accept a variety of cryptocurrency, as well traditional methods. This initiative allows donors to decide how they want their donations spent.
Kyiv launches a new platform for donations amid ongoing war with Russia
Ukraine, which has been increasingly relying on foreign donations to support its defense efforts and overcome humanitarian challenges following Russia’s invasion, now offers those who want to help an integrated platform that streamlines the process and allocates financial support in accordance with the donor’s will.
Its website states that President Volodymyr Zeleskyy launched United24 as the primary platform for collecting donations in support of Ukraine. Last week, the Ukrainian Head of State announced the initiative. His Administration stated that it was designed to bring together people all around the globe who want to assist the country.
United24 is a project that aims to boost donations for Eastern European countries while maintaining transparency in distribution. Zelenskyy explained that the project allows all to come together to help Ukraine, and to provide assistance for those who are suffering from war.
Any country can allow anyone to make one-click donations. Entrepreneurs, individuals, and large tech companies can all make a one-click donation.
Donors have a variety of payment options. You can choose from traditional payment methods like bank wire, credit cards, or Paypal. Members of the crypto community can send funds by way of a number of coins — from BTC and BCH, to USDT and DOGE — through Whitepay, a provider of a point-of-sale (POS) solution for cryptocurrency payments.
Ukraine has already received millions of dollars in crypto donations, and in March the Ukrainian government launched a website called ‘Aid For Ukraine’ for those who want to send digital currencies. It was announced after media reports revealed that ‘Help Ukraine’ crypto scams are on the rise.
Three main areas will receive the financial aid: humanitarian, medical, and defense of Ukraine. People and organizations who wish to send money are prompted to choose one of these options as soon as they click the ‘Make a donation’ button.
All funds collected will be transferred to accounts in the National Bank of Ukraine that have been assigned to the Ministry of Defense or Ministry of Healthcare. The Ministry of Infrastructure will then use the money for the most urgent needs. Every week they will provide updates on the distribution.
The initiative has been overseen by Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry of Digital Transformation. The reports will be reviewed by Deloitte Ukraine’s consulting and auditing firm.
