Travala, a crypto-friendly travel site has now added support for the Shiba Inu cryptocurrency. SHIB is now available to purchase more than 3,000,000 travel products around the world, such as flights and hotels.
Travala adds support for Shiba Inu crypto
Travala, a travel website, announced Tuesday that the shiba Inu cryptocurrency was added to their website as a method of payment.
Twitter account official of company congratulated shiba Inu supporters on winning the token challenge it started a few weeks ago. They also mentioned that SHIB has been added to Travala.com’s payment system and that you can use SHIB to purchase over 3 million products in travel worldwide.
Travala set up a “token battle” between FLOKI and SHIB on Dec. 2. The company explained that the cryptocurrency with the most votes after 72 hours “will win a listing on Travala.com.” In addition, “All users who vote for either token will receive a share of $15,000 in AVA, which will be dispersed in accordance with the votes cast.”
SHIB was declared the clear winner.
“We pride ourselves on being the leading cryptocurrency-friendly accommodation booking platform,” Travala’s website states. User can now pay with 77 different cryptocurrencies. This includes DOG (the meme cryptocurrency) and SHIB (the newly added SHIB).
Crypto-friendly travel website, Travelocity reported that November’s total revenue was $7.2 Million. This is a 6833% increase over the previous year. Additionally, 82% percent of November’s bookings were paid in cryptocurrencies.
Shiba Inu Crypto has seen steady growth in adoption. SHIB support was expanded by cryptocurrency exchanges Kraken, Gemini and Gemini in November. Newegg will accept Shiba Inu payments for this month, and AMC Theatres has promised to take SHIB into the first quarter next year. In the meantime, supporters of shiba dogs have started petitioning Robinhood to allow SHIB to be accepted on their popular trading platform. At the time this article was written, 544,304 signatures were collected.
