Game of Silks has received $2 million funding. This is the premier derivative play to earn metaverse that uses derivative NFTs. This fresh capital injection comes just weeks ahead of the Kentucky Derby and the upcoming launch of Silk’s first NFT collection. The Silks Project is supported by several companies, including Tropical Racing Inc. (a leading thoroughbred horse racing and breeding company).
Troy Levy, the CEO of Tropical Racing Inc. and the co-founder of Game of Silks, explains, “The transaction announced today with Game of Silks represents a unique opportunity for Tropical Racing and our shareholders. We’re optimistic that this partnership has the potential to accelerate Tropical’s growth, while also introducing the thoroughbred horse racing industry to the next generation of sporting enthusiasts.”
Silks will also launch the first NFT-based offering, called Silks Genesis Avatar Collection. It is scheduled to be launched on April 27, 2022. Silks Avatars will represent a user’s unique identity and ownership of their in-game assets within the Silks metaverse, making them a critical component of the Silks ecosystem. Silks Genesis Avatar Mint is available to users via the Silks site. Whitelist access can also be requested through Silks Discord before the sale.
Thoroughbred Horse Racing Comes to The Metaverse
Silks is an innovative, immersive and skill-based P2E game. It aims to encourage racehorse ownership among the masses. The entire experience can be gamified through NFTs and in-game rewards.
Game of Silks, a derivative blockchain-based metaverse founded June 20, 2021. The native play-to earn (P2E), economy is designed to allow anyone to own thoroughbreds or horse farms. Every Silks NFT represents a tokenized copy of top-rated thoroughbred racehorses aged one in America. Silks NFTs can be used to monitor the bloodlines and training progress of real-world horses. NFT owners will also receive in-game tokens as well as other benefits when the horses win races or breed offspring.
Silks NFTs, which are naturally scarce, are limited in supply. Other projects could mint more NFTs than they need, while Silks NFTs are restricted by how many horses are actually present in the real world. As a result, the Silks team can’t manipulate the market or dilute the value of circulating NFTs. Silks includes its DAO (decentralized autonomous organisation), which ensures that the entire revenue goes to the community.
Game of Silks Co-Founder Dan Nissanoff praised the support of Tropical Racing Inc., a top thoroughbred horse racing organization., “I am excited to have a strategic investor like Tropical Racing as an early investor in our round…They bring deep industry expertise and a valuable network critical to the execution of a derivative metaverse project like ours.”
