Realm announced today a partnership with Alkimi Exchange that will allow you to have your metaverse data, while ads won’t disappear.
Realm said it’s working with Alkimi Exchange to create a fraud-free, transparent and sustainable advertising environment within its metaverse. It said the partnership promises to be mutually beneficial for both projects, because its core values are closely aligned with Alkimi’s mission to revive the exchange of value between users, publishers and advertisers.
Realm, a cross-chain, community-driven metaverse that is based on NFTs allows producers and collectors to create their virtual worlds. Realm’s mobile-first, play-to-earn metaverse is popular for its big social component, where gamers and artists can design and build their own NFT metaverse spaces, incorporating whatever music, art and games they wish to include in those environments.
Artists and NFT collectors will have the opportunity to make and monetize their works in any way that suits them. NFT artists will have the opportunity to showcase their work in a customized virtual and augmented reality experience. Visitors can then enjoy it exactly how they were designed.
With that in mind, Realm’s metaverse is certainly not a bad fit for Alkimi, which prides itself on the sustainable, decentralized advertising exchange it has built on Constellation’s Hypergraph technology. In Alkimi’s case, a decentralized ad exchange is one in which control and decision-making is transferred away from a centralized entity such as Google, to a distributed network. Alkimi states that users will no longer be considered products on the ad exchange. Publishers will not have to submit their messages at Google or Facebook’s behest.
It is based on the principle of “generative economics”, where users will be shown fewer ads, but better quality, and rewarded for seeing them. In the meantime, advertisers can reach more audiences, and publishers are able to regain control over the tools that enable them to produce innovative, creative content.
Realm said it intends to use Alkimi’s platform to incentivize players to earn from advertisements by sharing the revenue from existing ad formats in a transparent way. Advertising can play a vital role in the metaverse and give brands greater leverage. It states that participants should have the option to either opt in to receive customized content and branded information, or to maintain their control of their data.
“Advertising is a fundamental part of most existing social applications, but the deal’s been pretty bad for both the person who creates the data and the advertiser who struggles to verify their spend,”Matthew Larby, co-founder of Realm and chief executive officer, explained.
Ben Putley, Alkimi Exchange CEO and co-founder, noted that advertisers will undoubtedly look at the metaverse when developing their marketing strategies. Alkimi, he said, will assist them in doing this in a respectable, efficient, and transparent way.
