
Although bitcoin is up in price, rising 8% over the past 7 days, statistics indicate that bitcoin-owning addresses have surpassed 40,000,000 addresses. The analytics portal intotheblock.com shows that addresses holding any amount of bitcoin reached 40.25million addresses on March 24th.
Addresses that hold a small amount of Bitcoin, or more, have been able to resell past 40,000,000
Since 2018, non-zero bitcoin addresses (BTC), or accounts holding at least one satoshi worth of BTC, have grown at an astronomical rate. The news was revealed on March 25, when intotheblock.com’s official Twitter account tweeted about the milestone.
“40M+ Holders – For the first time the number of addresses holding bitcoin has surpassed 40 million,” Intotheblock said. “After dropping in February, the number of addresses holding Bitcoin has continued to grow and set new highs.”

These numbers indicate a growing interest in and acceptance of bitcoin.
Four years ago on March 12, 2018, the number non-zero Bitcoin addresses stood at 20.86million. According to statistics, the number of Bitcoin addresses has grown by 92.95% over four years. The number of active daily bitcoin addresses currently stands at 955,380, with 429,120 new addresses. Profit is 30.64 Million bitcoin addresses have made profit at current prices.

Intotheblock.com’s metrics show that there is a 10% concentration of bitcoin-related large holders. Coincarp.com data suggests the top ten BTC owners own 5.58%. 20 wallets command 7.78% of the supply, the top 50 addresses capture 11.36% of BTC’s supply, and the 100 richest addresses hold 14.11% of the leading crypto asset’s supply. Any address holding at least zero to 0.00001 bitcoin is considered to be one of the 3,315,204 currently owned addresses.
Bitcoin addresses holding at least one to 10 Bitcoins, which account for 680 261 addresses as of March 25, 2022, accounts for 680 261. There are 2200 whale addresses available today with at minimum 1,000 to 10,000 BTC. Only 82 addresses meet this requirement for mega-whales, which are bitcoin addresses having at least 10,000 BTC to 100,000 BTC. Furthermore, in terms of the biggest bitcoin whales of them all, or addresses with at least 100,000 to 1,000,000 bitcoin, there’s presently four BTC addresses that hold that amount.
