The metaverse concept has been gaining a lot attention online, and prominent corporations such as Microsoft and Facebook have joined the race to adopt it. Metaverse Alliance team believe that the metaverse is going to create long-term economic value for the future. It will also allow virtual and real worlds alike to coexist with few borders.
Metathon is a combination of hackathon and metaverse. The goal of Metathon is to provide a forum for outstanding and innovative developers with the vision and imagination of the metaverse. It is open to anyone who believes that multiple protocols and Web 3 tools for metaverse infrastructure are essential. Artists who are interested in the future of non-fungible tokens, (NFTs), can also apply.

The Metaverse Alliance has cooperated with leading funds such as Republic, Delphi Digital, LD Capital, YGG, Hashkey Capital, IOSG, Binance Labs, Huobi Ventures, OKEx Blockdream Ventures, Kucoin Labs, MXC Labs, DHVC, D1 Ventures, Maven Capital, Kardiachain and more (Find out more: https://metaversealliance.com/), top tier public chains such as Solana, Avalanche, Flow, Klaytn, Multiverse, active DAOs, experienced crypto experts, and project founders that have already made their mark in the crypto space. The alliance will be collaborating with top artists in order to create limited-edition, non-fungible identity tokens. The deadline to register for the Metathon is December 1, 2021, and the submission period runs through January 3, 2022. Preliminary judging will take place on January 4, 2022, and January 7, 2022.
On January 8, 2022 the finalists will be revealed. The preparation and submission of the finals will take place from January 9 through January 15, 2022. Final judging will also take place between January 16 and 20, 2022. The names of the winners will appear on January 21st, 2022.

Five themes of the Metathon
Metaverse Infrastructure
Track Metaverse Infrastructure covers specific topics like decentralized identity and productive tooling as well as cross-chain transfer NFT/FT assets.
GameFi
It includes all GameFi projects.
DAO Tool
DAO asset management is inefficient, opaque and difficult. The current DAO tools lack user friendliness and high barrier to entry.
SocialFi
This means sharing on-chain high-quality content.
Financial NFT
NFT Specialties are used to create more flexible financial products.
The Metathon Prize
Each winner will receive $25,000. There are $410,000 in prize money. Each theme’s second and third runners up will each receive $15,000 and $10,000. Prize money will be awarded to the best project, which receives $8,000 and $8,000. The prize money for the most popular projects will include $10,000 and $8,000 respectively. Both the top-performing design and most promising prospect projects will each receive $8,000
There will also be “sponsor grant” prizes worth $110,000, which are distributed as follows:
- Klatyn sponsor grant for $50,000
- Cradles Sponsorship Grant of $40,000
- NEO sponsor grant for $10,000
- Multiverse sponsorship grants of 10,000
Eligible Participants
Metathon is open for developers, entrepreneurs, as well as teams, from all over the world. Participants must be 18 or older. Participants can submit their projects on their own, but it is best to work in a group of 3-5 people. All team members need to submit their CVs as Metathon participants in order to be eligible for the prize raffle. Metathon organizers and their families will not be permitted to take part.
