The META HISTORY project team created Ukraine’s first NFT war museum one month after Russia’s full-scale invasion. In the month since, they’ve raised $1,290,398 (83.28 ETH). This was in addition to the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation’s crypto platform KUNA, the blockchain company Everstake, as well as the Charity Foundation of Serhiy Prytula.
“The idea of immortalizing the history of events in works of art and offering them to those who want to support Ukraine proved viable from day one. The drop in March brought in over $600,000 in 24 hours ⎯ 1,282 of 2,178 NFTs were sold. I think META HISTORY can make a significant contribution to supporting Ukraine by highlighting the truth through NFT art and selling it until the war is over,” Brittany Kaiser, META HISTORY ambassador, founder of #OwnYourData, blockchain activist.
On July 21, META HISTORY released its third NFT collection Warline (https://metahistory.gallery/warline)Artwork that depicts the events of World War II is called ‘The Story of the War’. Every one of the important events in this war is represented by one of many artists from different disciplines of visual art, such as oil, motion, abstraction, generative graphics and calligraphy. Artificial intelligence created one exhibit.
“Ukraine’s first NFT museum ⎯ META HISTORY ⎯ raised over $1,000,000 for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. All profits were sent to Aid For Ukraine (a crypto-fund that is specifically for the army), by the project team. The NFT will not stop Russian missiles, but it offers a way for Ukraine to develop as an innovation-friendly country and to rebuild its economy,” said Oleksandr Bornyakov, the Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine for IT Development.
At the July 28 online metaverse event, the team behind this project will provide more information about the third collection drop. Party Space, project partner will offer a virtual exhibition where visitors can see the 30 new works and get more information about how they were made. Announcement of the event and information on how to attend will soon appear on the museum’s META HISTORY social media pages.
“We saw great potential to raise funds for Ukraine through NFT art. The company is now expanding its options by offering additional ways for people to order artwork. With the next drop of mint, we expect to implement free mint. There will also be regular metaverse events where you’ll learn more about the project and the behind-the-scenes,” VK, Founder of META HISTORY museum.
