Eurovision Winners’ NFT Auction Raises $900K for Charity – Metaverse Bitcoin News

Kalush Orchestra has successfully auctioned an NFT in aid of charity. The auction was held on MetaHistory — the official Ukrainian charitable NFT museum – and raised $900,000 in cryptocurrency for Ukraine.

MetaHistory and Kalush Orchestra’s NFT Charity Auction

WhiteBIT was the biggest European crypto exchange, originating in Ukraine. They took home the iconic crystal microphone Trophy. With the sale of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 prize, the MetaHistory auction raised $900,000.

WhiteBITBoth records in Ukraine were simultaneously broken. They made the most expensive (500 ETH) purchase of NFT and it’s the largest amount of donation during the live stream. This company is committed to spreading blockchain technology and expanding the crypto community. It may have been this goal that motivated them to create a record and donate the most cryptocurrency to help their country.

“WhiteBIT is grateful to the global community for supporting our country during this difficult time. We, Ukrainians, want Western partners to understand that entrepreneurs and businesses in Ukraine are investing their entire resources to support our soldiers. The Kalush Orchestra made the decision to give in this auction. It was a conscious, well-thought out move. It is quite a sum, even for a crystal mic, to donate $900,000. But $900,000 to help the Armed Forces is only a small portion of the full contribution of all Ukrainians towards our common victory,” – said Volodymyr Nosov, CEO of WhiteBIT.

At the same time, Kalush and MetaHistory’s ambitious collaboration does not end there. The Kalush Orchestra is a Ukrainian music label co-founded by the Kalush Orchestra’s founders. ENKOThe production of the music NFT album, featuring invited artists from Ukraine and abroad has started. Funds raised will be used to help Ukraine.

“Enko always tries to be ahead of others, this determines the leader. So, it was an honor and a privilege to have been a co-creator of such an important record. For such an impressive gesture, I’m grateful to Vladimir Nosov from Whitebit as well as the crypto-community. VK’s proposal to hold this event with MetaHistory is something I want to specifically mention. Enko, MetaHistory, and OhMyGod are all planning an event that will be a break with the existing rules and boundaries. Stay tuned,” – said Kateryna Dmytrenko, CEO Enko music label (Kalush Orchestra label).

The staff of the community agency OhMyGodThis event was promoted and the charity initiative was supported by me.

This latest action shows that the Ukrainians recognize the value of NFT. IMetaHistory launched the NFT Collection of Artwork in March. It raised $800,000. MetaHistory’s unique platform is designed to dispel stereotypes regarding NFTs, and make them a timeless and important mode of communicating with the rest of the world. It is an excellent example of how NFTs can work and the momentum for them to be a nationwide platform is growing.

“As the founder, I am happy about the historic event that took place on the MetaHistory platform, because so far no one has minted the Eurovision trophy before. The crypto-community, and Volodymyr Nossev CEO at Whitebit are my thanks for participating and their passion to win. This money will be used to aid our country in its time of aggression. MetaHistory will continue to develop its work to show the world that NFT can be more than a speculative asset,” – said VK, the CEO of MetaHistory.
