Eurovision Song Contest 2022 Winners Release NFT for Ukraine Charity Auction – Metaverse Bitcoin News

Kalush Orchestra won the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 and are now auctioning an NFT to charity. The auction started May 25 on MetaHistory — the official Ukrainian charitable NFT museum – and will last only until the 28th. Monobank will allow you to bid in cryptocurrency or fiat currencies, creating an open competition as to which type of currency is most likely bring the largest donations.

Eurovision Song Contest 2022 occurred in Turin on 14 May, Italy. A total of 161,000,000 viewers were able to watch the event on television in 34 countries. The contest was also viewed online by 18 million viewers via YouTube, TikTok and YouTube. Kalush Orchestra’s Stefania was chosen as the winner. To raise money for Ukraine, the band will auction off an NFT (Non-Final Transfer) of Eurovision Glass Microphone Trophy.

The NFT can be purchased with cryptocurrency. It comes with a unique digital NFT file that includes a microphone, Kalush Orchestra and a microphone. A dinner and exclusive meeting with Kalush Orchestra members. The Crystal Microphone will be given to the highest bidder, providing that it is not lower than the fiat currencies bid.

This raffle is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. The CO Charitable Foundation Serhiy Prytula will receive all proceeds.

The popular European cultural contest saw participation from forty countries, while Russia was excluded this year. It was also the first song written in Ukrainian. It is generally believed that the voters of it supported the Kalush Orchestra’s music and the struggle for the country as a whole.

Both the Ukrainian government and the people have adopted crypto donations and NFTs to raise support. This is a move that was not possible before these events. Crystal analytic group claims that crypto donations to Ukraine in the last war were among the most significant ever. These donations totaled more than $82 millions as of May 12, 20,22. Considering this, it’s not that surprising that the first attempt to make the minting of the NFT trophy “Crystal Microphone” in Europe belongs to Ukraine.

 

“Web3 allows to pool funds in unprecedented ways”, says Alona Shevchenko, co-founder of Ukraine DAO. Ukraine DAO launched the NFT for the Ukrainian flag. It was sold at auction for $6.5million in Ethereum, which makes it the 10th-most expensive NFT.

“The last three months of war has shown how powerful and creative Web3 could be when it comes to fighting for human freedom”, adds Rev Miller, one of the founding partners of Unchain Fund. Unchain Fund has raised approximately $10m to date in crypto through 15 blockchains.
