Crypto.com Chosen as an Official FIFA World Cup Sponsor – Bitcoin News

FIFA (the international governing body for association football) announced that Crypto.com would be the official sponsor of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2020. According to the announcement, the digital currency trading platform will “activate its official sponsorship” during the tournament “in many ways.”

Crypto.com will continue its strategy of marketing to the sports world to increase digital currency awareness and showcase their brand. On March 22, FIFA announced the organization has chosen Crypto.com to be an official sponsor for this year’s FIFA World Cup. This year’s World Cup will be held in Qatar. Millions around the world watch it. FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 begins on 21 November at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor.

Since its inception, the FIFA World Cup is a very popular event. Statistics show that the World Cup 2018 final attracted a total audience of 517 millions and that 1.1 billion people watched it on TV.

FIFA’s announcement says that Crypto.com “will be the exclusive cryptocurrency trading platform sponsor of Qatar 2022 and will benefit from significant branding exposure both within and outside the tournament’s stadiums.” Kay Madati, FIFA’s chief commercial officer, explained that FIFA is pleased to have the crypto exchange sponsor the World Cup in Qatar. Madati also noted that Crypto.com had already demonstrated strong engagement in sports.

“Crypto.com has already demonstrated a commitment to supporting top-tier teams and leagues, major events and iconic venues across the world, and there is no platform bigger, or with a greater reach and cultural impact, than FIFA’s global platform of football,” Madati said in a statement.

Crypto.com is joining other cryptocurrency firms such as the crypto exchange FTX that have invested a lot in sports sponsorships. In the announcement on Tuesday, Crypto.com highlighted that it had several partnerships with organizations in “motor sport, MMA, basketball and ice hockey, as well as football.”

The exchange signed a contract with entertainment company Ultimate Fighting Championship last summer. A few months later, Crypto.com secured a naming rights deal to the Los Angeles Lakers’ stadium the Staples Center calling it “Crypto.com Arena.” At the end of 2021, Crypto.com partnered with the Angel City Football Club (ACFC). Kris Marszalek remarked that sponsoring the FIFA World Cup will “drive further awareness of Crypto.com globally.”
