Sebasa Mgale from South Africa has vowed to sue those who have reported him. Mogale has denied that he committed fraud and his lawyer insists no evidence will ever be discovered.
Five fraud cases against Mogale
Sebasa Mogale (the Thobela FM broadcaster) is accused of defrauding investors by using his crypto-investment scheme. According to the radio presenter’s legal representative, Lesedi Mphahlele, Mogale “did not receive any money from anybody.”
The threats by Mogale, who also plays a role in the South African television show “Skeem Saam,” follow reports that quote a regional police spokesperson confirming that his organization has indeed received complaints from individuals claiming to be victims of the presenter’s scam.
One report states that five fraud cases were opened against Mogale. Investigations are ongoing. According to the report, after the probe has been completed, Mogale will turn the cases over to a senior prosecutor. He will decide the next step.
The Allegations are not supported by any evidence
Mphahlele responded to the allegations against Mogale by stating that the allegations were false and were damaging Mogale’s reputation. Mphahlele added:
I think it’s a matter of people not understanding how the business operate[s]. Bitcoin. Sebasa did nothing but market. Everyone is challenged to produce proof of payments showing that money went into either his personal or business account.
Mphahlele admitted that fraud cases had been filed against him, but he insisted that there would not be any evidence because Mogale has never committed fraud.
Mogale, however, admits that he’s a network marketer, but denies forcing people to register. Mogale also stated that he never claimed to have been a crypto expert or owner of cryptocurrency businesses.
Although his victims have claimed losses in excess of $50,000 for their combined losses, the radio personality insists that anyone who has signed up to his Bitcoin Investment Scheme will have access to all of their funds.
