Less than 20 days ago, the German multinational sneaker and sportswear corporation Adidas launched the company’s Adidas Originals non-fungible token (NFT) collection and since then the NFT compilation has surged into the top 50 NFT collections in terms of sales.
The Adidas NFT collection sees significant demand in less than 20 days
At the end of November 2021, Adidas revealed it was “excited” about the metaverse and said the company had partnered with Coinbase and acquired land in The Sandbox. Adidas revealed to the media that it had partnered with Bored Ape Yacht Club’s (BAYC), NFT project and Punks Comic the following week. Adidas Originals NFT was released in mid-December by the company with Gmoney and Punks Comic.
NFT has been a success in terms of sales and is now amongst the Top 50 NFT Collections. The Adidas Originals NFT Collection is currently the 49th largest NFT project by sales. Adidas NFT has witnessed 18,092 transactions, with 13,801 buyers and 10732 sellers. Adidas Originals sales have reached 14,781 ether (or $57.6 Million) since it was launched.
Adidas Originals NFT Floor Nears 1 Ether, Collection’s Sales Still Small Potatoes Compared to Independent NFT Compilations
Dune Analytics data is slightly different. Adidas Originals NFTs saw 18,770 sales, and an average of 15,479ether (close to $60 Million). A single Adidas Originals NFT currently has a floor price of 0.704ether, or $2729. The average price for a single Adidas Originals NFT is 0.70 ETH, or $2,896 today. On January 4, 2022 the highest sale was 0.780ether, or $3,024. Metrics indicate that there are 17,976 unique ethereum (ETH) addresses holding an Adidas Originals “Into the Metaverse” (ITM) NFT.
Adidas was one of the first corporate brands to be included in the Top 50 NFT Collections. However, there have been many independent NFT projects that are seeing a lot of demand. Axie Infinity NFTs recorded $3.8 Billion in sales. Cryptopunks received $1.8 Billion, Artblocks purchased $1.1Billion, and BAYC crossed the $800 million mark, with 296,616 ether, or $1,022,0999,000909 in annual sales. Adidas Originals ITM sales represent only 5.6% of total BAYC sales.
