Globant (a software company that develops games) and Yougov conducted a survey that found most gamers think that the metaverse will make gaming more enjoyable. Survey results from 1,000 console and PC gamers revealed that many gamers still have concerns about advertising in the metaverse. Additionally, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), are not common for metaverse gamers.
Globant Survey: Metaverse tech Might Impact the Gaming Industry
Gamers are now more open to metaverse technology and how it will impact the future industry. A new survey, titled “Metaverse Awareness Survey,” published by Globant, a software and tech company in partnership with Yougov, found out that gamers believe that the buzz around the metaverse is justified.
It also covered other metaverse-related topics like NFTs. The survey surveyed 1,000 gamers to find out how important the metaverse is for the interactive entertainment sector. The sector will be impacted by metaverse tech and more than half of those surveyed agree with this view, 41% saying it will, 25% not.
Gamers in the metaverse continue to view advertising negatively, with 35% not being happy with advertisements in these areas. If there were some reward, such as access to apps or advertising in the metaverse, only 44% would be willing to accept it.

We see from this survey that, although metaverse development remains in its infancy, U.S. gamers believe the technology has the potential to expand the gaming possibilities.
So far, cryptocurrencies are still unpopular.
Survey results seem to show that there’s still some disconnect between Web3 tech and the metaverse, with most gamers still being uncomfortable about using cryptocurrencies or NFTs. According to the survey, 34% were interested in managing crypto assets while nearly half said they didn’t care about mixing them with games.
Similar to Ubisoft’s experimentation with NFTs, big companies such as Ubisoft are still playing around with the idea. 81% said they had not yet purchased an NFT.
Meta appears to have the advantage in brand association with metaverse. 73% of gamers associate the platform with their concept.
