Today’s launch EarthFundBlockchain technology can be used to fund causes and promote good in the world by anyone using a distributed platform called.
Although blockchain technology and crypto currencies have the potential to make a huge impact in improving the world, it’s been used only for short-term gain and has had very limited impact on those who really need them. According to EarthFund co-founder, Adam Boalt, the technology “hasn’t been fully adopted yet mainly because of usability”, and that is what his company is trying to change.
“So far, crypto native folks have spent their energy on often frivolous causes, such as trying to buy a piece of paper or a virtual monkey profile picture,” Boalt further shared. “But with EarthFund, we’re focused on making crypto accessible so everyone can harness its potential and help truly world-changing causes to get the funding they deserve.”
Decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), as transparent channels for raising donations, tracking them and ensuring that every penny reaches people who need it, have been favoured by blockchain projects in the past. Since the stories of ConstitutionDAO and UkraineDAO, the concept of creating DAOs to fund real-world causes has become mainstream. Although many charitable DAOs are promoting the use of crypto and token incentives as an effective force for doing good, they have often not had much impact.
However, the task of setting up a funding DAO is something that only experienced Solidity developers were capable of doing. The infrastructure needed to fund a DAO was not available for individuals or companies, which severely limited its potential impact.
EarthFund is a simple, intuitive user interface that allows everyone to create DAOs and fund the causes they care about. This will make a real difference in achieving their goals. Funders, donors, and users will all be able to make an impact in real life with the simple UI of EarthFund. To encourage more contributors to the DAO, founders can set it up easily, attract funding, and offer token incentives.
EarthFund is designed for participants of all classes in DAO projects. It provides a plug-and-play, intuitive platform for founders that allows them to launch an ERC-20 token or DAO with gasless governance. The platform offers rewards to users for their participation and votes in advancing the cause that they have committed to. EarthFund is a platform that allows donors to give crypto. It’s geared towards vetting and ensuring the funds make a significant impact.
The platform will launch with pilot projects from prominent philanthropists like Deepak Chopra, Dr Lucy Tweed and others who aim to establish funding DAOs (Development of Aid Organizations) for carbon removal and mental health causes.
“We’re seeing a shift in the crypto space from a focus on short-term profits to using it to build a better future for everybody. That’s why we partnered with EarthFund to launch our NeverAlone token and democratize and decentralize the way that projects focused on tackling the mental health crisis get the funding they need to make a difference,” commented Chopra.
EarthFund’s final goal is to address the transparency and accountability issues that are affecting charities, donation centers and humanitarian causes. Today, charities usually take between 26% and 87% of donated funds for “administrative” purposes, while the remainder is deployed as the creators see fit. EarthFund utilizes blockchain technology, decentralized governance, and cryptography to make sure all funds are properly used and that the final decision regarding how they should be spent is made transparently to all parties.
