Game developers, investors, and gamers rushed to gamefi because of the possibility for profit through play-to-earn mechanics. However, there were also opportunities for rich gameplay due to blockchain deployments and non-fungible tokens.
To date, blockchain games have presented simple 2D worlds built around turn-based mechanics. This allows for fast gameplay and focuses on earning potential. But thankfully, that is starting to change…
Epic War, Engaging Gameplay
Epic War, a blockchain-based FPS (first person shooter), is the first to offer Triple-A graphics in gameplay and virtual reality (VR) delivery. It also offers free play-to-earn (“F2P2E”) metaverse.
The 3D-blockchain shooter is only part of an Epic War universe that will also include several comics and films. In the gaming story, players will be participating in battle royales against other gamers and hostile NPC creatures. You will also find team battles with up to 16 participants (8v8) during a single session. Boss battles test players’ abilities even further, and come in three different difficulty levels: normal, hard, and super hardcore.
Token Epic War ($EWAR), the native token, is used to purchase NFT products, create in-game characters, new weapons, gears and battle maps. This token can be used to govern the project, giving the holders voting rights on its future. The EWAR tokens awarded to winners in battles. These tokens can be used later to upgrade the attributes of players-characters and sold to the highest bidder via exchanges.
Each session will give both winning and losing players the opportunity to receive unique NFTs. These tokens can be used for in-game items such as weapons, maps, and gears. These artifacts are available for sale, trade, or rental to players. They can also be dispensed after completing challenging quests in the game.
Epic War’s game engine was built from the ground up using C++ code, and leverages the acclaimed Unity Engine as the technical foundation of its gameworld. Many mainstream Triple-A games publishers use the Unity Engine. It has been featured in Escape From Tarkov and Wasteland 3 as well as many other releases such as Subnautica and Cuphead.
