The Number of Cryptocurrency ATMs Installed Worldwide Surpasses 39,000 – Bitcoin News

Today, the global number of automated teller machines for cryptocurrency (ATMs), has exceeded 39,000. The number of cryptocurrency ATMs has increased by 3,925% in the last three years, from January 2017, when it was close to 1K. The number of crypto ATMs has seen an exponential increase in the 23 months that have elapsed since September 1, 2020 when it was less than 10K worldwide.

There’s Now 39,011 Crypto ATMs Installed Across 77 Countries

The number of global digital currency-dispersing ATMs (ATMs), reached 39K in the first week August 2022. Based on metrics from coinatmradar.com, 614 operators of crypto ATMs have now installed 39,00011 cryptocurrency ATMs in 77 different countries.

Around 969 bitcoin ATMs were available worldwide on January 1, 2017 and installations have increased by 3.925% since then. With 37,081 ATMs and 95.1% of the global crypto ATMs, North America leads with 95.1%.

U.S. holds 87.9%, with 34.299 crypto ATMs. The rest of the world’s percentage of crypto ATMs operating today is around 4.9% with Europe capturing 3.8% of that number.

Canada has 6.3%, or 2,461 total, of North America’s global aggregate. Data from coinatmradar.com shows that 38.998 crypto ATMs support bitcoin (BTC) out of 39,011 total.

But 33,056 also support alternative crypto assets. Litecoin, (LTC), is accessible on 32.4666 machines. ethereum, (ETH), is supported on 29,324 devices. Dogecoin, (DOGE), is located on 16132 machines. And bitcoin cash, (BCH), is available at 13,801 crypto ATMs.

2022’s Top Crypto ATM Operators and Manufacturers

Bitcoin Depot, which has 17.7% of all global crypto ATM operators with 6,896 devices in place, is the most popular. Bitcoin Depot follows Coincloud (5.643 machines), Coinflip (4.124 machines), Bitcoin of America (2.339 machines), Bitstop (1969 devices), Rockitcoin (1.781 machines).

Genesis Coin is the top crypto ATM manufacturer globally as it represents 40.6% of today’s machines, while General Bytes is second with 22.8% of the world’s manufactured crypto ATMs. Bitaccess (15.8%), Coinsource (5.2%), Bitstop (4.9%), and Bytefederal (2.8%) are next to the crypto ATM makers Genesis Coin.

Coinatmradar.com keeps track of the speeds attained by crypto ATMs over time. The web portal dedicated to crypto ATM statistics indicates the speed is recorded by a gauge scale “calculated based on last 60 days, [while] speed is calculated based on last 7 days.”

The gauge reports that at current rates, 14.7 new crypto ATMs were installed per day on Sunday August 7. 2022. At this rate, 40K crypto ATMs worldwide will be installed in approximately 67.27 hours.
