Bitcoin Fear and Greed Index: Market Extremely Fearful
The latest Arcane Research weekly report shows that extreme fear is back on the BTC market. It suggests now could be a good time to purchase.
The “fear and greed index” is an indicator that tells us about the general sentiment among investors in the Bitcoin market.
To represent sentiment, the index uses a numeric scale ranging from one to 100. All values above the “50” point signify greed, while those below the cutoff imply the market is fearful right now.
The values towards the ends of the spectrum of over 75 and under 25 signify extreme greed and fear.
Tops tend to form when there is extreme fear, while bottoms are formed during times of great greed.
This is why some investors feel that it’s best to buy during extreme fear than sell during extreme greed.
