Gifting of Virtual Land on Earth 2

Earth 2’s new gifting function has been launched just in time for Christmas. Players can send unique virtual land tiles to any geolocation of earth.  Each piece of virtual land in Earth 2 corresponds directly to the exact location of the real world, making it unique, even the single ownership.

What can gifting do for Earth 2?

The gifting feature will not only make it easier for the welcoming of new players into community driven land projects, such as MegaCities, but also serves as an interesting and different type of gift experience which provides the recipient with direct ownership of land at the starting point of Earth 2’s metaverse, the largest virtual land registry in the world in both size and diversified ownership.

Earth 2 expects that the metaverse is a continuously growing concept. Much like the Internet. With this expansion, there will be more uses and functions of virtual land within the metaverse.

“Empowering players with more agency over the utility of their land, beyond trading, is a natural progression towards the futuristic, player-driven metaverse envisioned by Earth 2”, said Earth 2 Founder, Shane Isaac.  “Irrelevant of the occasion, virtual land makes for a very different, interesting and unique gift, on so many levels.”

Earth 2 players have begun to discover this versatility. One player took advantage of it in his unique way to make a virtual souvenir of the location where he proposed.

“I proposed in front of thousands of people before watching the Nutcracker at the Lexington Opera House,”Matt Haydon is an Earth 2 member, who shared his unique experience online.

He said, “I’m thankful Earth 2 added the gifting option. A few minutes and 1 tile later I’d frozen a moment in time forever. It’s a simple way to “engage” the recipient and give them a taste of E2. New user or existing, it’s a nice touch just in time for the holiday season.”

One reason to gift land is to use our gifting tool to immortalize and share meaningful places.  Players can now reserve their future in Earth 2 by registering for Tier 2 virtual land tiles through a partnership agreement with Polygon Studios.

The gifting feature is accessible here:

One Earth 2 user can send gifts to another user, and one Earth 2 person to any email address.  In the future, gifting will also expand to become available on Earth 2’s own social media platform.

  • Choose the tile or tiles that you would like to purchase, and then proceed with the transaction as usual. Registering on Earth 2 costs nothing.
  • Before finalising payment for the selected tiles, select the “This is a Gift” checkbox.
  • If your giftee has not joined Earth 2, enter an email address or an account name in the box provided.
  • Keep going as normal.
  • A gift redemption code is sent automatically to both you and the giftee after the transaction is completed via in-game notifications or email.

The team at Earth 2 loved hearing about the story of Matt’s proposal, if you have a unique story you would like to share with us, post it on our official Earth 2 Community Facebook page, or tag us in our socials!

Earth 2

Earth 2® is a futuristic concept for a second earth; a metaverse, between virtual and physical reality in which real-world geolocations correspond to user generated digital virtual environments. You can buy, sell, or customize these environments in the very near future.
