Crypto in Eastern Europe

Russia invaded Ukraine Thursday 24 February 2022. Eastern Europe was in turmoil after the Russian invasion. Although we’re not here to comment on the political situation in Ukraine and beyond, we can observe one fact: Ukraine’s government turned to crypto in trying times.

The crypto community responded.

Unchain Fund was founded in Ukraine by blockchain experts and raised over $1.8 million in the 5 first days. They’ve since gone on to raise millions more.

Now, this is perhaps the highlight of crypto’s strength in Eastern Europe throughout 2022, but in nations throughout Eastern Europe that are not under attack from a foreign regime, the crypto community continues to thrive.

Chanalyis released a report late in 2021 which stated that Eastern Europe was the hotbed of scams within cryptoverse. The industry has matured over the years. Although the report outlined concerns around Eastern Europe’s illicit usage of crypto, it still made up less than 1% of incoming and outgoing crypto assets in the region.

Eastern Europe is home to many people who want to improve the situation and boost adoption.

COINZIX is one such player.

COINZIX’s vision is that of an easy, safe, and reliable, suit of products that are primed to dominate the crypto landscape in Eastern Europe. COINZIX’s vision is more than a central exchange. They are also developing a variety of crypto-focused products. These include an ATM network that is currently live, with plans to expand, a launchpad, payment service, as well as their native utility token $ZIX.

Although, they won’t be able to usher in the mass adoption of crypto alone. COINZIX will need to collaborate with other Eastern European crypto-evangelists. This is in addition to governments, regulators, the global community, and any others to ensure Eastern Europe has a central role in the future digital finance.

It is notable to note the following developments within Eastern Europe in relation to blockchain technology and cryptocurrency tech:

Blockchain technology is unlikely to lead to financial freedom overnight. This is a long-term battle, which is ongoing in many parts of the globe, even Eastern Europe. Players like COINZIX won’t stop fighting until the victory is achieved.
