There are no new protocols recently implemented. Some users are now speculating that early investors might dump their MARS tokens onto future beneficiaries of airdrops. On this matter, Delphi Digital’s José María Macedo said:

The team cannot do anything right now because nodes Mars Protocol, Astroport_fi, and all other Terra dApps they connect to, are offline. As a reminder, all Mars initial contributors are locked until next year, so pls stop spamming about “inside job”.

Do Kwon, Terra Co’s founder seems to be bullish about Mars Protocol long-term development. This could support price appreciation in the weeks ahead.

The protocol appears to offer yield farmers several passive income options that could be attractive long-term investors, rather than just speculators. Over the next 3 to 18 months, as NewsBTC reported, users that lock Terra’s token LUNA will receive MARS as compensation.

Early investors who support the protocol will receive over 10 million MARS tokens. A portion of the reward payments will be distributed to AMM Astroport’s liquidity provider, MARS/UST trading. Mars Protocol team posted the following tweet:

Soon, the Mars UI interface will be available and you can claim your rewards. The Terra nodes Mars links to have very high traffic, which may cause the interface elements to slow down. Have patience and please try again.

Terra Offers Investors Higher Yield Farming Opportunities

As clarified by the team behind Mars, the protocol will provide users with three additional “leveraged yield farming strategies”. It is based on the stablecoin UST as well as three other tokens LUNA and Anchor (ANC).

These three strategies work in a similar way. A user deposit one token on Mars to start receiving rewards. MIR and ANC provide users with 2x as many rewards since their tokens can be also deposited onto Astroport in order to earn yield.

A user might deposit ANC to Mars, and then the protocol proceeds to loan 100% of the tokens in UST. Later, Mars’ smart contract takes the original ANC and UST and send them to Astroport to generate rewards in ASTRO.

The Mars Protocol smart contract is called Fields of Mars. It has a deployment date of the following 24 hours and will be used to support yield farming strategies. Two features have been launched by the protocol at the time this is written: depositing and borrowing. These features are available at http://www.etf.org/ clarifiedVia Twitter

You can deposit and borrow $LUNA or $UST in the Red Bank, and then stake $MARS to get $xMARS. Users can stake to gain access to governance through the Martian Council, where they have the ability create and vote for governance proposals.
