Since the end of April, the top privacy crypto assets by market capitalization went from a combined value of $10.7 billion to today’s valuation of around $5.09 billion. Monero saw a 48% decline in its value, while zcash experienced a 56% drop against the U.S. dollars.
The Privacy Coin Economy has amounted to Billions since the end of April
The value of the top five privacy cryptocurrency coins monero, zcash(ZEC), decred/DCR, nucypher/NU and horizen(ZEN) has fallen significantly in the past two month. Archived data shows the $10.7 million market cap of privacy crypto assets on April 28, 2022.
The entire collection of privacy-centric tokens has lost 54% in the past 54 days. XMR was traded for $227.96 in 1996. Today, XMR stands at $123.15. ZEC was trading for $148.92 per unit and it’s currently changing hands for $68.61 per unit.
Also, while the Cosmos-based secret was once the fourth most popular privacy coin, it now ranks sixth. Horizen, ZEN (ZEN) used to be in the sixth spot at that time. It is now in fifth place.
Similar to nucypher, NU jumped a place from fifth (or fourth) in market valuation for privacy-focused tokens. XMR has lost 48% since April 28th, but the cryptocurrency shed 32% in the last 30 days.
ZEC’s loss since that day was 56% but over the last month, ZEC’s USD value slipped by 37%. The largest privacy coins by market cap saw seven-day single-digit gains over the past week. But, many lesser-known privacy cryptocurrencys experienced double or triple-digit increases.
Zclassic (ZCL), a cryptocurrency that has risen more than 129%, saw scala increase by 105% and Cloakcoin (CLOAK), gathered 57.7% gains. Firo (FIRO) also rose 19.5% in the past week. Privacy coin kurrent (KURT), mimblewimble (23.7%), and ghost (GHOST), all lost 43.1% over the week.
Monero is the most popular privacy coin today. Zcash and ZEC are top 2 in market capital. Out of $5.09 Billion, they command $3.082 Billion. XMR is 60.55% and ZEC are 60.55%, respectively.
