Building Trust in the Metaverse Content Creation Ecosystem

South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT in conjunction with the National Information and Communication Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) has said it will recruit companies that will be participating in the 2022 Metaverse Content Creation Project. South Korea will support metaverse content producers locally and issue non-fungible tokens.

The project’s purpose is to foster trust in the metaverse creation ecosystem, according to News 1 Korean Language publication. Each company will receive $160,000, or 200 million won.

Heo Won Seok (director of Software Policy at the Ministry of Science and ICT) is quoted as explaining why South Korea embraces the metaverse. Director Heo Won-Seok stated:

As part of the new metaverse industry-leading strategy, this project will be promoted. Through providing quality content for different age groups, and support for creators’ creative endeavors, we intend to help Korea rise to the top of the metaverse.

The report states that companies who wish to be part of the project should submit their applications by July 8. The report also stated that content creators as well as content developers can join consortiums with token-issuing businesses if they wish to take part in the project.
