Today’s top meme coins have lost 4.8% in value against the U.S. dollar, as the crypto market carnage has wreaked havoc across the entire digital currency economy. Although dogecoin experienced a great year in 2021 it has suffered a loss of 82.8% to the USD over the past twelve months.

DOGE Hit an All-Time Record in One Year. The Meme Coin Value Has Dropped 82% since that point.

Meme coin assets are down this week following the rest of the crypto economy’s downward spiral. Statistic shows that DOGE (dogecoin) lost 14% value over the past month. 30-day statistics show SHIB (shiba inu) dropped 24%.

The $28.3 trillion worth of meme tokens has lost 4.8% value in the past day. DOGE fell 1.7% over seven days. SHIB lost 6.8% last week. DOGE is also down 82.8% from the crypto asset’s all-time high on May 8, 2021, which was exactly a year ago today.

DOGE was trading at $0.731 an unit. Six months ago, SHIB tapped an ATH at $0.00008616 per unit and today it’s down 78% since that price point. SHIB, DOGE, and SHIB account for 95% of $28.3B meme token capitalization. They have combined market values of about $26.9B today.

Google Trends Data Shows That Interest In Dogecoin And SHIB is Low

The meme coin economy’s value has been declining in recent years, but a new meme token called “litedoge” (LDOGE), has seen a 400% increase. The Poodl token is up 34.2%, while dogefi is up 27.3% over the last seven days. Jejudoge has dropped 44.6%, let’s go brandon has fallen 43.3% and shiba fondom has seen a decrease of 28.9% against the USD.

Last year was a great time for meme tokens, but the interest is waning fast. After hitting a Google Trends (GT) score of 100 last May, this year during the same weekly timeframe, the search phrase “dogecoin” has scored a three. SHIB hit a 100 in October and GT data shows the search term “SHIB” has scored a four this week, according to worldwide statistics.
