Truly Playable AAA Games to Look Forward to in 2022

Blockchain gaming has revolutionized the industry. Players now have the power to decide, rather than developers. There are currently 398 active Blockchain games. The industry’s influence has risen to the point that it now accounts for 52% of all blockchain activity.

Blockchain entertainment facilitates NFT creation and trading as well as ownership. A blockchain game gives players full ownership over in-game assets, while also giving them access to those assets for use outside of the game. Axie Infinity is an example of a blockchain-based game that allows players to trade and own in-game assets for cryptocurrency.

Many of these games are available, but there’s a major problem many gamers face. Good gameplay is key. Many blockchain games can be difficult to play and lack the level of quality that traditional gamers demand. Crpytokitties or Axie Infinity would be two good examples.

These games could be the solution.

Delysium

Delysium offers the most well-known game modes, including battle royale and MMORPG. It also allows for players to earn loot boxes through participation in different game types such as PVE or PVP. Delysium has a higher barrier to entry than other games and an open environment for the co-creation and sharing of game settings, ecosystems, and game assets. This allows Delysium to express a deeper spirit of web3 which can attract more guilds and players.

Galaxy Interactive, Republic Crypto, and Alameda Research are all backing Delysium. You can then make your own content, sell items you have earned, and improve your character or equipment on Delysium. The game’s base on Polygon Network makes it fast, which is needed for its high-resolution gameplay.

The game features play-and-earn and a foundation of NPCs in the game powered by Deterrence. This Artificial Intelligence layer (AI) for NFT or virtual beings, is also included. The AI-driven NPCs that can be rented or purchased by the players are able to perform tasks for passive income.

It’s not easy to develop a high-quality AAA open game on web3 and make it playable, but Delysium has done it. Delysium announced that the Pre-Alpha Test will be launched in May, just two months after its first round of private funding. Pre-Alpha Test is expected to last for two months, and will invite almost 5,000 participants. This is a far greater number than Star Atlas which is still at the trailer stage. In particular, from this Pre-Alpha Test to the following Alpha Test in July and Beta Test at the end of the year, Delysium will continuously host large-scale testing  and go on live streaming with the web2 professional player teams directly, which is the first initiative of the blockchain industry. AAA blockchain games can be developed and released if it goes smoothly.

This will be followed by a public beta launch in the following weeks. Illuvium’s breathtaking graphics and gameplay have already attracted over 250,000 fans on social media.

Blocklords

Blocklords, a strategy game on blockchain, allows players to make heroes and build armies. It also allows players to create government through commerce and conquest as well collecting sales tax.

In-game characters can be described as digital assets. Their qualities are determined by their actions throughout the game. You can play anything from a knight or a raider to a farmer or merchant. Your unique abilities may be monetized through the player-driven economy.

Planet Mojo

Planet Mojo, an online player-vs-player (PvP), cross-platform auto chess platform game that has been reinvented for blockchain allows players to control their characters as NFTs and earn points in tournaments. The game was developed by industry professionals from LucasArts and Activision.

One of few gaming projects that has the vision to save our planet is this one. The game has also teamed up with One Tree Planted in order to offset some of the Moj Seed NFTs’ environmental impact. Each NFT that players purchase will be used to sponsor the planting one tree in an area of forest destruction.

A game-wide allow listing campaign for NFTs has been launched. It is currently online. On May 5, 2022 the allowlist winners, who will receive Moj-Seed NFTs, will be announced. This token will give holders access to the game early and many other valuable benefits.

Final Thoughts

While there are thousands of blockchain games available and in production, it’s fair to say that only a handful of them provide high-quality gameplay that traditional gamers can resonate with. We hope that this list has introduced some hidden gems. Their unique combination of AAA gaming on the Web3 with amazing graphics makes them stand out from all the rest.

Facing the multiply doubts about Web 3 games from traditional gamers, high quality and rapid development to satisfy the player’s expectation might be the only way to break the wall. Although it’s challenging to produce and implement AAA games super quickly, projects such as Delysium have succeeded in doing so. Delysium’s accessibility to game entries was not only superior to truly playable games. It also reduced up-sells, and made it easier to enjoy the games.

After all, the value of the existing gaming industry is $200 billion, so imagine what it could be with cryptocurrency and blockchain?
