PRICE RELEASE Reef, a layer 1 Substrate based blockchain for DeFi, NFTs, and gaming, announced today it’s launching a new NFT division focused on connecting with graffiti and electronic artists while scaling up it’s blockchain to be more NFT-friendly.
Reef has worked behind-the scenes for the past two months to help the NFT ecosystem. They’ve hired Philip Galaviz, an influential figure in the Denver music and art scene, to join the team as Head of NFT. Philip is a veteran of Digitally Imported Radio and Global Dance and has helped to build a music and cultural program through IRL collaborations. As Head of NFT, Philip will spearhead Reef’s business development and expand its offerings to a wide range of artists, beginning with electronic and graffiti artists, and album cover designers.
Philip and the Reef Team pushed the initial stage of their NFT wave to ETHDenver. The workshop featured a packed beginner workshop, metawalls, contests in NFT, as well as introductions for graffiti artists Mike Graves, TukeOne and Emit One DF. Reef also announced the first round of grant recipients with 3 NFT-development projects receiving $210,500. Kanaloa and Dimension 11 Studios are the recipients. Oyster will also be working on Reef’s marketplaces and other NFT-dApps.
Denko Mancheski, CEO of Reef, said, “I firmly believe we have identified one of the most impactful engagements we could make this year that will help cement Reef’s future as a blockchain for DeFi, NFTs, and gaming. Phillip is a well-known industry veteran with deep connections in the music and art world, and we’re working with new NFT projects to make Reef NFT-friendly and accessible to everyone.”
Reef took major steps in recent weeks to update their blockchain. ReefScan V2 and the $REEF Community Bond were launched. Denko and Reef members will be in Dubai for Binance Blockchain Week at the end.
